Welcome message from Harv Jubie, Governor, District 5050

Welcome to District 5050

On behalf of all the Rotarians of District 5050, I would like to welcome the Group Study Exchange Team from District 3330 Thailand: Team Leader, Dr. Sanguan Kunaporn and Team Members Maitree Kaewtubtim, Sani Chartudomdej, Hathairat Rangsansarit, and Ratchada (Mummy) Thepnave.

As your hosts in our International District, it is in the spirit of friendship that we are honored to have you as our guests. It has been said that “Strangers are friends we have not met” and it is in this spirit that we welcome you. We are looking forward to sharing with you our homes, fellowship and vocational experiences as you travel together between our two countries, Canada and the United States of America. Rotary is a potent force which draws all peoples of the world together through its emphasis on human dignity, decency, goodness and the love of one’s neighbor. We ask that you share with us your country’s culture and vocational experiences. In doing so, together we will expand human horizons to promote peace through understanding and progress through knowledge.

I sincerely hope you will find your GSE experience with us to be memorable, enjoyable and truly worthwhile and leave us having experienced and unrepeatable opportunity to experience a different culture, in all its aspects, to the fullest possible extent.

Harv Jubie
District Governor, District 5050

Greeting message from Phakorn Nitjarunkul, Governor, District 3330

Dear all fellow Rotarians of District 5050 RI, USA and Canada

On behalf of every rotary clubs in District 3330, Thailand, I would like to convey my congratulation to all of us for the extraordinary collaboration between our District according to Group Study Exchange program sponsoring by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. In the world of conflict, insurgency or terrorism, one way to decelerate or even eradicate these problems is to building understanding among every nations in every levels. Rotary has started this unique exchange program for more than 40 years ago. Someone might question that this cultural and vocational sharing is really beneficial or worth to continue. I would not hesitate to say that without this program or other similar ones, we might spend almost of our life time among the ruin of building or starvation because of the more severe war. With our mutual commitment and continuing cooperation from all concerned parties, I believe that this GSE Year 2005-20006 program will be successful and not only bring the betterment to an individual of our learning participants but also to our Rotary community and countries as a whole.

I would like also to express my gratitude to the District Governor Rob Martin, DRF chair, DGSE chair and committees, all presidents and members of Rotary Clubs, host families and everyone who involve in this program for the great hospitality given to every GSE from District 3330.

Yours in Rotary

DG.Phakorn Nitjarunkul
