Immediate Relief: |
|
Staring from
the disaster until 1 months commencing from Tsunami disaster
Help if provided to anybody affected by the Disaster who is
not able to help themselves until finding deceased persons
and bodies. During this time the Government agencies, NGO's
and Foundations and Volunteers help with labor, funds and
material, whereas the necessary organization management is
not in place yet. This has the effect that some relief materials
are arriving in amounts not necessary or do not arrive to
some of the effected villages. The help Rotary can give during
this time (which party had been done already) are:
1.1 Food and materials, relief
materials as medication and clothes, medicine
1.2 Hospital treatment for injuries
and post trauma effects
1.3 Organizing of short term
accommodation
1.4 Investigation of relief
needs for middle and long term projects |

Middle Term Relief 1 – 6 months after
the Tsunami Disaster: |
Help if provided
to will be less as journalist will loose interest in the aftermath
of the Disaster and will instead concentrate on the upcoming
elections in February of year. But projects to help the effected
in building homes and property will be more effectively managed.
Management will be more professional and divided into different
sectors. Project and responsibilities of Rotary will be:
2.1 Clean Water for drinking
and use
2.2 Vocational Training, Small
engines for Fishing boats, equipment for batik production,
2.3 Post Trauma Counseling
2.4 Vocational Training for
handicapped as result from Title Wave and providing necessary
equipment as wheelchairs
2.5 Finding places for orphans
2.6 Permanent homes for disaster
effected families as of Government policy which for about
100,000 Baht per home.
2.7 Recover Nature and Environment
for example the beach, coral reefs and fauna which had been
effected by the disaster
2.8 Education for Disaster prevention
and Environmental impact of nature (warning system, survival
techniques) |

Long Term Relief (6 month to 2 years
after disaster): |
During this
time the effectiveness of relief and management by the government
and NGO's will be evident and show its effects on the disaster
effected families. The projects of Rotary will be:
3.1 Scholarship
3.2 Building of Library and
donating books, computers and educational material
3.3 Building of Museum in memory
of the disaster and its effects in order not to forget the
effect and education of the people. |
